It's a known fact that tide is closely connected to the altitude of islands. High tide generally means floods. Low tide, in contrast, expands the land territory. We wish to exploit this fact and therefore plan to dig canals in mainland Africa, likely Mozambique, to dry out the Indian Ocean. This will allow Madagascar to rise from the Ocean, so to speak, and expand her area.
We have consulted a student of hydrology from the University of Stockholm who recommended this plan for us.
