Flatting a mountain

This plan is very diffícult to carry out but we had to mention it anyway. A Dutch geologist (and mountain climber) has calculated that if we engage in a plan to flatten out the largest mountain of Madagascar, the Maromoktro, we might be very successful. He emphasizes that a reduction of just 5 % of the landmass of the mountain will help Madagascar grow significantly in land area. If the land is placed right on the eastern coast of Madagascar, the land area will grow with a stunning 9 %!

Unfortunately, our geologists from Miami disagrees completely with our Dutch friend and raise concern that the plan will catastrophically impact the climate - and thereby the agriculture - of the island. Furthermore, they doubt the basis of his calculations, saying they are far too optimistic. Therefore, the plan is considered to be a last try if the other plans do not work.

Approximate cost: 17-20$ million
